Every week, we will be uploading an episode from our video series, The Apprenticeship Levy Explained by Stewart Segal. Our Director of Strategy at 3aaa Apprenticeships will be answering questions and explaining the Apprenticeship Levy in detail, ahead of its introduction in April 2017.
This week’s video question is:
Can companies claim back money for Apprentices who leave part way through their qualification?
Well, as soon as an Apprentice leaves a programme, then the funding for that Apprentice will stop, but it’s not a question of claiming money back because they will of received quite a lot of training by then and they will of received the benefit and the employer would have received the benefit. Now, our attention is to get as many of those Apprentices through to the end of the programme, so that’s the way were looking at it in terms of maximising the opportunity for employers to make sure those Apprentices finish the programme and become loyal employees.
