All businesses in the United Kingdom with 250 or more employees will have to publish an annual gender pay gap summary to the Government from next year.
This comes as part of the Government’s strategy to defeat workplace gender discrimination and increase business performance by opening doors to 50% of the population that have often been ignored in the past.
3aaa Apprenticeships strongly believe that there is a misconception by women is that Technology is just digital administration or coding. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We are working with employers across the nation who are hiring women in areas such as app development, graphic design, marketing and cyber security!
We also work with huge numbers of employers to provide them with high-quality Accounting and Financial Apprentices, of which a significant number are female.
Justine Greening, Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities commented on this announcement;
“Helping women to reach their full potential isn’t only the right thing to do, it makes good economic sense and is good for British business. I am proud that the UK is championing gender equality and now those employers that are leading the way will clearly stand out with these requirements.”
3aaa Apprenticeships are working with businesses across England to develop equal opportunities for male and female employees in the workplace and encourage all businesses to provide women with the opportunity to start and build a career in Technology, Accountancy and Finance.
We can assist your company in managing your people development and recruitment strategy and to help you encourage more females into Technology and Financial roles within your business.
Through many years’ experience of working with employers, we often find that the true reason that they aren’t hiring women in Technology & Financial roles is nothing to do with inequality, it is simply down to the lack of female applicants for roles in IT and Accountancy.
Di McEvoy-Robinson, Joint Owner of 3aaa Apprenticeships also commented;
“3aaa Apprenticeships employ over 500 staff across England, of which over 60% are females. 30% of our Technology and Accountancy Apprentices are females too, which is 10% higher than the UK average. In addition, there are 1,500 female applicants in our talent pool of young people looking to start an exciting Apprenticeship opportunity right now! Could you be the employer who recruits the next Sheryl Sandberg, a leading female in the Technology space? We are proud of training fabulous, talented females and welcome a recognition by the Government of focusing attention on gender pay gaps as an opportunity for more females to secure roles in the Technology and Finance sectors.”
3aaa Apprenticeships urge all females who are at the point of starting or changing their career to apply for an Apprenticeship in Technology, Accountancy or Financial Services. The roles are hugely diverse and involve skills that can be brought across from other sectors.
